...disguising myself as a normal person day after day is driving me nuts...

May 29, 2010

a different perspective....

the cold holding area, waiting for a clean room,
81 year old Eddie, waiting for someone to transport him to his room,
singing: "Used to play them records, wipe em dry, make sure to stack
em high"..
What stories he could tell.
Wondering why and if you will ever be his age, and almost jealous that you know you won't...
Watching the young residents and nurses flirt and you are just a disease now-you used to be them once.
You are different now.
And painfully aware of just what life is for you.
Not exactly what you planned, but you will make it. In your own time.
In exactly whatever that is.
Because that is what you do.
You do the best you can with what you've got.

Spring Break

Everyone Who Felt Good Today
After Seeing the First
Green Buds on the Trees

Should Rise at 10 A.M.
From their Desks, Computers,
Beds, or steering Wheels,

Find a Window to Admire
The New Green World
And Yell as Loud as Possible:

"We Made It!"
